Iran Launches ‘Ambassador of Death’ Unmanned Bomber

Iran announced on Sunday a new unmanned jet bomber that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dubs an “ambassador of death” to Israel and other enemies. Sunday’s launch statement comes one day after Iran began operating its first nuclear power plant and two days after it test-fired a new surface-to-surface guided missile.

“The jet, as well as being an ambassador of death for the enemies of humanity, has a main message of peace and friendship,” Ahmadinejad told Iranian officials. He added that the aircraft will help “keep the enemy paralyzed in its bases…until the enemies of humanity lose hope of ever attacking the Iranian nation.”

It is tacitly taken for granted that Israel has been mapping out possible scenarios for attacking Iran if American-led diplomatic efforts and economic sanctions do not succeed in stopping the Islamic Republic from continuing unsupervised production of enriched uranium. The recent joint IDFair exercises in Romania seemed to bear that out. Iran has denied widely accepted Western assumptions that it plans to produce a nuclear warhead that would be aimed at Israel.

The new unmanned bomber is 13 feet long and is named the “striker,” or Karrar in the Farsi language. Iran previously has produced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), primarily for surveillance.

Ahmadinejad recently has repeatedly warned that it has the capability of retaliating against any country—including the United States—that tries to attack it.

“The scope of Iran’s reaction will include the entire earth,” said Ahmadinejad. “We also tell you — the West — that all options are on the table.”

Syria Ready For War

WorldNetDaily TEL AVIV – Syria, aided by Iran, has deployed a strengthened army along Israel’s northern border and is prepared to launch a surprise war against the Jewish state, according to senior Israeli security officials.

The development comes as Prime Minister Ehud Olmert yesterday told the Knesset he is ready for direct negotiations with Syria aimed at an Israeli retreat from the Golan Heights, strategic mountainous territory that looks down on Israeli population centers twice used by Damascus to attack the Jewish state.

With Israelis this week commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Six-Day War – when neighbors Egypt, Jordan and Syria attacked the Jewish state – Israeli security officials told WND Syria has prepared for a confrontation and is capable of launching an immediate war.

The officials say the Syrian army is deployed along the Syrian side of the Golan Heights with strengthened forces after carrying out the past few weeks stepped-up training of troops. The officials noted the open movement of Syrian Scud missiles near the border with Israel and said Syria recently increased production of rockets and acquired missiles capable of hitting central Israeli population centers.

Fred Thompson coming to Israel

Israel Today Fred Thompson, US presidential hopeful and former star of the hit television series “Law & Order,” is scheduled to make his first visit to Israel in the coming days.

Thompson, who is said to have a fair chance of winning the Republican presidential nomination, will meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and various other senior officials during his tour of Israel.

Of the dozen or so candidates contesting the nomination, Thompson is among the most supportive of Israel.

The former actor, who has also served as a US senator, bucked popular international sentiment by insisting in a hard-hitting editorial column that Israel has been almost too careful in its war on Palestinian terrorism.

“Israel is at war,” Thompson wrote for the conservative website Townhall.com. And the Jewish state has gone to “incredible lengths to stop the war against them without harming Palestinian non-combatants.”

Thompson is also on record as supporting an Israeli military strike against Iran should international diplomacy fail to prevent the Islamic Republic from obtaining nuclear arms.

More liberal political elements in Israel fear Thompson may be too far to the right, and therefore end up harming Israel. During his time as a senator, Thompson was one of the sponsors of the Jerusalem Embassy Act demanding that the US government move its embassy to the Israeli capital in defiance of Palestinian claims to the city.

‘Israel behind general’s defection’

A senior US official told The Washington Post Thursday that missing Iranian general Ali Rez Asghari was in Western hands and providing intelligence services with information about Hizbullah, Iran and the ties between the two. It was the first time since Asghari’s disappearance last month, during a visit to Turkey, that a western official confirmed his fate.

Another US official, who spoke to the Washington Post on the condition of anonymity, suggested that Asghari’s disappearance was voluntary and was orchestrated by Israel.

‘Terror U’ sets up in former Jewish city

Via: WND A Hamas-affiliated university with a history of involvement in terrorist activity today opened a branch in a former Gaza Strip Jewish community, building on the foundations of evacuated Jewish structures.

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh led today’s dedication ceremony officially opening a new campus of Islamic University in the former Jewish town of Nitzarim, south of Gaza City. Sections of the campus were constructed using the foundations of the remains of Jewish buildings, which were mostly demolished by Israel prior to its withdrawal in August 2005. The new school features classrooms, chemistry labs, faculty offices and a mosque.

Islamic University was founded by Hamas spiritual leader Ahmed Yassin, who was assassinated by Israel in 2004.

The university’s main campus in Gaza City has been used by Hamas’ so-called military wing to recruit terrorists and suicide bombers, according to Israeli and Palestinian security officials. The officials said chemistry labs were used to manufacture and improve explosives for Hamas-affiliated militias.

Stop The ACLU New Year Resolution

Crossposted from StopTheAclu: Judge Roy Moore makes a New Years Resolution that I’m definitely on board with.

Each year the American Civil Liberties Union and other liberal organizations continue their efforts to destroy traditional values that we once assumed were self-evident and beyond question. And each year we sit quietly by doing nothing to stop their relentless assault on our culture and our religious heritage. As our resolution for the New Year, let us join together to defeat the ACLU’s anti-Christian agenda and restore our civil and religious freedom.

Most definitely the ACLU’s attack on religious freedom is one of many good reasons we should resolve to join together and fight back. We have a whole list of other good reasons. The damage the ACLU has done to our National Security, the War on Terror, and our National Soverignty are at the top of my personal list. There are many reasons to stop the ACLU’s agenda, but what people need to know is how. Everyone needs to get involved. There is a lot that can be done. One thing to do is to get active. Email, write, or call your elected officials and let them know that National Security is of primary concern. This time last year the ACLU were running full page ad propaganda war against the NSA and the Patriot Act. Even though the Democrats made a show of not clapping for the Patriot Act, in the end they lost that battle. They are still beating the dead horse over the NSA program. Another thing is to elect people who will appoint Constitutionalist judges. We’ve made progress in this area over the past year. Last year around this time the ACLU announced their official opposition to the confirmation of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. Many of the ACLU’s biggest fans in the Senate fought hard to paint him as a woman hater and bigot, to the point of bringing his wife to tears, but in the end they all lost that battle. When it comes to religious freedom, the ACLU is America’s number one censor. They have compared Christians to terrorists, and even called for jailing people over prayer. The most outrageous thing about this is that when these cases their attorney’s fees are paid for by the taxpayer. We have made progress against this in the past year. Currently there is legislation to put a stop to this and we got it passed in the House of Representatives. The bill is still pending before the Senate, and just because we lost the majority is no reason for us to let up. Support groups that are fighting the ACLU. There are many out there including the Alliance Defense Fund, ACLJ, Liberty Council, and Thomas More Law Center. Join one of them, donate to them, and tell others about them. Educate the public about the ACLU’s agenda. This last one is the New Year’s resolution we are making…to continue our fight against the ACLU by educating the public. Join us and over 200 other blogs in helping to expose the ACLU’s agenda to the people. This was a production of Stop The ACLU Blogburst. If you would like to join us, please email Jay at Jay@stoptheaclu.com or Gribbit at GribbitR@gmail.com. You will be added to our mailing list and blogroll. Over 200 blogs already on-board.
