Not surprising that scientist are finally laying the smack down on Gores overly exaggerated movie and its claims.

This is not just because the ex-vice-president commits numerous basic science mistakes. Scientists respond to Gore’s warnings of climate catastrophe
CFP “Scientists have an independent obligation to respect and present the truth as they see it,” Al Gore sensibly asserts in his film “An Inconvenient Truth”, showing at Cumberland 4 Cinemas in Toronto since Jun 2. With that outlook in mind, what do world climate experts actually think about the science of his movie?Professor Bob Carter of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University, in Australia gives what, for many Canadians, is a surprising assessment: “Gore’s circumstantial arguments are so weak that they are pathetic. It is simply incredible that they, and his film, are commanding public attention.”
Now it is a noble cause truly to be good grounds keepers of our land and waterways. But to blame it on big bad evil you and me? Global warming is an up and down thing. Nature is more in control then we are. I’ll be damned if I allow some treesap sucking-presidential wannabe-liberal reject tell me how to live or guilt me and especially my children at school or otherwise, that we are the primary reason and we are the bastards killing the polar bears.

A month later, her daughter’s bedroom remains sealed off with plastic like the site of a hazardous materials accident, while Bridges works on a way to pay off a $2,000 estimate by a company specializing in environmentally sound cleanups of the mercury inside the bulb.

With everyone from Al Gore to Wal-Mart to the Environmental Protection Agency promoting CFLs as the greatest thing since, well, the light bulb, consumers have been left in the dark about a problem they will all face eventually – how to get rid of the darn things when they burn out or, worse yet, break. ……….more
